Before SSJID can lower the electric bills for families, schools and businesses in Manteca, Escalon and Ripon, it first needs the approval of the San Joaquin Local Agency Formation Commission. LAFCo is a county entity made up mostly of elected city and county representatives.

SSJID wants to make sure that the LAFCo commissioners hear directly from the people who will benefit from lower electric rates.
